“Wait for the Lord; be strong, take courage, and wait for Him!” — Psalm 27:14.
Success isn’t always immediate. At times, God allows us to experience delays to refine our character and build resilience. This waiting period is not wasted time; rather, it is an opportunity for growth and preparation.
Consider David, who was anointed as king in his youth (1 Samuel 16:13). Despite this promise, it took many years for him to ascend the throne. During those years, David faced numerous challenges, from evading Saul’s jealousy to navigating personal failures. Yet, through it all, he remained steadfast in his faith, trusting that God’s timing would prevail. David’s story reminds us that patience can lead to a more profound understanding of our purpose.
“Blessed is the person who holds strong during trials, for when they have passed the test, they will receive the crown of life God promised.” — James 1:12.
The journey toward success often includes significant hurdles. Rather than viewing these obstacles as misfortunes, we can see them as opportunities to grow stronger. Each trial we face can develop our resilience and deepen our faith.
The story of Job exemplifies this perseverance. Despite enduring immense suffering and losing everything he cherished, Job did not waver in his faith. His endurance through hardship ultimately led to God restoring him with even greater blessings (Job 42:10-12). Job’s experience teaches us that perseverance through difficulties can lead to a future filled with hope and fulfillment.
“Trust the Lord with all your heart; don’t depend on your understanding. Acknowledge Him in everything, and He will guide your path.” — Proverbs 3:5-6.
Life can be unpredictable, and our plans may not always unfold as we wish. In those moments, it’s crucial to trust in God’s greater plan, even when we cannot see the way forward. Surrendering our understanding allows us to embrace the journey with faith.
Moses provides a powerful example of this trust. Initially hesitant and filled with self-doubt, Moses struggled to accept God’s call to lead the Israelites out of Egypt (Exodus 3-4). However, once he surrendered to God’s plan, he became the courageous leader who guided his people to freedom. Moses’ story reminds us that trusting in God’s purpose can lead to extraordinary outcomes, even when the path seems unclear.
